Do I have to be Christian to have an advent calendar?

Unlike most 30-somethings without children, I read Family Fun magazine. Part of it is because I'm a teacher, and the other part is because a subscription was offered for cheap through Amazon. I'm very much a child when it comes to crafting, in that I have very little patience for projects that can't be finished in one sitting. Also, if I leave things sitting out, my furry companions take the liberty of finishing the project for me, and not usually in a way I'd like it finished, so I have to get things done fast.

Anyway, here's a cute advent calendar I saw in the November edition of Family Fun magazine. I'm not really into the whole Christmas thing, and I certainly don't do religion, but this thing is adorable! I told the significant other that I should make two, and we should fill one for each other. After being told that it would be too much work (the filling, not the making), I've decided I'm going to make one anyway and fill it with things we both like.

It's made from a 24-cup mini-muffin pan and some magnetic sheets cut into circles. The magnetic circles seal the compartments, holding the goodies inside until the appropriate day. Perhaps I could use this as craft storage, too...
